Bengaluru Teacher Extorts Lakhs From Student's Father After Threatening To Leak Their Private Videos; Arrested
A preschool teacher from Bengaluru, Sridevi Rudagi, along with her two accomplices, Ganesh Kale and Sagar, has been arrested by the Central Crime Branch (CCB) for extorting money from the father of a five-year-old girl.
The case has emerged as a shocking instance of blackmail and manipulation, with the trio allegedly threatening to release explicit private videos and photographs unless their financial demands were met.

According to TimesNow, the victim, identified as Rahul, a businessman from Kalasipalya, had enrolled his daughter at Rudagi's preschool in 2023.
Over time, what appeared to be an innocent relationship developed between the two, with Rahul even purchasing a separate SIM card and phone for private communication with Rudagi. This, however, led to a cycle of exploitation, with Rudagi allegedly extorting ₹4 lakh from him.
In January 2024, the teacher escalated her demands, requesting ₹15 lakh and insisting on entering into a live-in relationship. When Rahul's family was away, Rudagi visited his home and took an additional ₹50,000, further tightening her control over him.
However, as Rahul faced business losses and contemplated relocating to Gujarat, the harassment intensified.
In March 2024, when Rahul visited the preschool to collect his daughter's transfer certificate, he was confronted by Ganesh and Sagar.
Alongside Rudagi, they threatened to release private videos and photographs unless he paid ₹20 lakh. Fearing for his reputation and his family's safety, Rahul initially paid ₹1.9 lakh.
However, the threats persisted, and on March 17, Rudagi demanded the remaining amount, breaking it down as ₹5 lakh for a supposed former Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), ₹1 lakh each for Sagar and Ganesh, and ₹8 lakh for herself.
Unable to endure the extortion any further, Rahul sought police assistance. Officers acted swiftly, arresting Rudagi, Ganesh, and Sagar.
Further investigations revealed that Rudagi had falsely claimed connections to a former ACP from the Malleswaram sub-division in an attempt to intimidate Rahul into compliance. However, the police confirmed that the ACP had no involvement in the case.
The three accused have been remanded in judicial custody, and investigations are ongoing.
