Bengaluru: Teacher Arrested For Sexual Assault Of Minor Girl In Nelamangala

In a distressing development from the Nelamangala taluk of Bangalore rural district, a 17-year-old girl fell prey to a heinous act committed by her physical education teacher. The incident, which unfolded in Dabaspet saw the 22-year-old teacher, identified Dadapir, exploit the trust of his young student by taking her to Devarayanaurga hill and subsequently to a lodge in Tumkur where he raped her.

Adding to the horror, Dadapir called the victim to his home ten days later and raped her again, this time with a chilling threat to her life if she dared to speak about the ordeal. The Dabaspet police have since arrested the physical teacher following a complaint lodged by the victim, with investigations currently underway.

In a separate yet equally appalling incident, a 24-year-old Dalit woman was deceived by a man named Srikanth, who promised her marriage only to betray her trust. The victim, who had met Srikanth while purchasing household goods in Sondekoppa, was led to believe in a future together.

Their relationship turned sour when Srikanth took her to a lodge in Nelamangala, where he forced himself on her, only to reveal later that he had no intention of marrying her due to her caste, proclaiming, "Dalit caste I will not marry. My job was to enjoy." This revelation led to a dispute between the two, after which Srikanth abandoned the young woman at the lodge and fled. The Nelamangala Nagar Police Station received a complaint from the distressed young woman, resulting in Srikanth's arrest.

These incidents highlight a grim pattern of exploitation and betrayal, where individuals misuse their positions of trust and authority to commit acts of sexual violence. The case of the 17-year-old student and the 24-year-old Dalit woman underscore the vulnerability of women in the face of deceit and coercion, often with the false promise of marriage serving as a pretext for abuse. The local police authorities' prompt action in arresting the accused is a step towards justice for the victims, yet these cases are a stark reminder of the ongoing battle against gender-based violence and societal prejudices.

Moreover, these events occur against a backdrop of increasing concern over crime in the region, as demonstrated by another shocking incident where a 15-year-old girl was raped by a 70-year-old man in the jurisdiction of the Nelamangala Rural Police Station. The elderly perpetrator was later assaulted by villagers for his appalling act, further illustrating the community's outrage towards such crimes.
