Bengaluru: State government says 'NO' to plastic use
Bengaluru, March 15: The state government on Tuesday, March 15 issued a special notification stating complete ban of plastic and thermocol in the state.
Special notification has issued strict orders not use any kind of plastics as it is banned across the state.

Following guidelines are strictly stated by the state government, "No shopkeeper, vendor, wholesale dealer, retailer, trader, hawker or salesman shall use plastic carry bags, plastic banners, plastic buntings, flex, plastic flags, plastic plates, plastic cups, plastic spoons, cling films and plastic sheets for spreading on dinning table irrespective of thickness including the above items made of thermacol and plastic which use plastic micro beeds."
However, the State has exempted plastic used for milk and milk products, apart from those which constitute an "integral part of packaging in which goods are sealed prior to use at manufacturing/processing units. " as per a report.
The notification also clears manufacturing companies to put bar for producing the plastic products and same deals with supply and transportation.
The main reason behind putting ban on plastic use was taken in view of the present condition around the state's environment. Plastic use has become hazardous to our environment by blocking the sewage, drains. Moreover, it has also resulted in pollution of water bodies in urban areas.
