Reactions to the video have been mixed. One user expressed surprise at the officer's calm reaction, remarking, "If it was a Kannadiga screaming like this, police would have been in a different mode," a reference to a previous viral incident involving an auto driver. Meanwhile, in a separate incident in Karnataka's Shivamogga, a traffic policeman was dragged on the bonnet of a car on Thursday while trying to stop the vehicle for a routine check. In footage circulating on social media, the driver, identified as Mithun Jagdale, is seen accelerating with the officer clinging to the car's bonnet to avoid being crushed.
