Around 48 FIRs (First Information Reports) have been lodged in connection with a series of bomb threats targeting schools across Bengaluru. These threats have sent shockwaves through the city, causing widespread fear and anxiety among parents, teachers, and students.
The FIRs were filed in accordance with the directives issued by City Police Commissioner B. Dayananda. Each police station is now handling the respective cases, and the authorities have assured the public that thorough investigations are underway.

Initially, 15 schools were directly targeted with threatening emails. Subsequently, upon further scrutiny by various educational bodies, it was discovered that a total of 48 schools had fallen victim to these menacing communications. Among these, 7 schools in Bannerghatta, 4 in Hebbagodi, 5 in Sarjapur, and 2 in Jigani were affected.
The threats were distributed across different zones: 15 schools in South Zone-1, 3 in South Zone-2, 10 in Zone 3, and 4 in Zone 4 of Bengaluru were recipients of such emails. Moreover, 7 schools in North Zones and 5 schools in Sanekal Taluk also reported receiving similar threatening communications.
The school authorities promptly notified the police, who swiftly arrived at the implicated institutions accompanied by bomb disposal units and anti-sabotage inspection teams, according to reports.
Upon their arrival, students and staff were immediately evacuated from the school premises. The police stated that no suspicious items have been discovered thus far, indicating that the message appears to be a hoax at first glance.
