Bengaluru’s Ejipura Flyover Project Faces Possible Tender Cancellation

The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) is considering canceling the tender for the Ejipura flyover project in Koramangala, Bengaluru's second-largest flyover. This decision comes amid concerns over slow construction progress and project delays.

The flyover, intended to alleviate traffic congestion on the 100 Feet Main Road by connecting Ejipura Main Road to Kendriya Sadan Junction, was awarded to a contractor with a project value of Rs 203 crores and a 15-month deadline. However, after 10 months, only half of the work is completed. To date, 67 out of 83 planned pillars have been erected, and the footpath at the site remains damaged.

Started in 2017, the project has already faced numerous setbacks. Despite repeated warnings from BBMP officials, the pace of work has not improved significantly. As a result, the BBMP is considering canceling the current contract and may issue a new tender to address the ongoing delays and incomplete construction, potentially extending the project timeline by an additional year.
