Bengaluru’s Double-Decker Flyover Bottleneck: Midday Traffic Snarls Affect Commuters
Bengaluru's double-decker flyover, typically a key route for easing the city's notorious traffic, experienced a severe traffic jam today, leading to significant disruptions. The jam, which began earlier in the morning, persisted well into the afternoon, causing frustration among commuters.
The situation was particularly dire on the HSR flyover, where bumper-to-bumper traffic was still reported at 12:30 PM. Commuters found themselves stuck in a gridlock, with vehicles barely moving for hours. The congestion, which started during the morning rush, showed little sign of letting up even as the day progressed.

One user took to social media to express their frustration, advising others to abandon their commute: "Guys, no point in traveling to the office today. Just head back home."
Relief finally came around 2 PM when the traffic jam began to clear. Reports from the scene indicated that traffic flow had returned to normal, allowing vehicles to move freely once again. Another user confirmed the improved conditions, stating, "It's a free flow now."
While the flyover is intended to alleviate traffic congestion in one of Bengaluru's busiest areas, incidents like today's jam highlight ongoing challenges. The mid-morning gridlock serves as a reminder of the unpredictable nature of the city's traffic, where even the best-designed infrastructure can face overwhelming pressure during peak times.
Commuters are advised to stay updated on traffic conditions, especially during rush hours, to avoid being caught in similar situations in the future.
