Bengaluru Road Rage Horror: Couple Mows Down Delivery Agent After Minor Brush on Road

A 24-year-old delivery agent was killed in a suspected road rage incident in Bengaluru on the night of October 25, after a couple allegedly rammed their car into his scooter following a minor collision. The victim, identified as Darshan, was riding through Puttenahalli when his scooter accidentally brushed against a car, damaging its right-side mirror. What began as a small mishap quickly escalated into a deadly confrontation.

According to police, Darshan immediately stopped, apologised to the car's occupants, and resumed his ride, assuming the matter was settled. However, the driver, later identified as 32-year-old Manoj Kumar - a Kalaripayattu instructor from Kerala - allegedly lost his temper. Enraged over the broken mirror, he made a U-turn and began chasing the two-wheeler through the dimly lit road near Puttenahalli.

Moments later, CCTV footage captured the chilling sequence of events. The video shows a white car suddenly swerving toward the scooter from behind, striking it hard before speeding away. Both Darshan and his pillion rider, Varun, were thrown off the vehicle by the impact. Bystanders rushed them to a nearby hospital, but Darshan succumbed to his injuries shortly after admission.

"The car didn't stop. The driver clearly aimed for the scooter," said an investigating officer, adding that the footage leaves "little room for doubt" about the driver's intent. The deliberate nature of the crash turned what initially appeared to be a hit-and-run into a case of suspected murder.

In a shocking twist, the accused couple allegedly returned to the scene minutes later - not to help, but to erase evidence. CCTV clips show them parking nearby, picking up fragments of their damaged car, and leaving again. "They tried to collect broken parts to destroy proof of the collision," said Bengaluru South DCP Lokesh Jagalasur, confirming that the couple's faces were clearly visible in the footage.

Police later identified the accused as Manoj Kumar and his wife, 30-year-old Aarati Sharma, originally from Jammu and Kashmir. Both have since been arrested and remanded to judicial custody for 14 days. During questioning, Manoj claimed that his wife was not in the car during the crash and only joined him later to retrieve the broken parts - a statement investigators are still verifying.

The couple's car has been seized, and the investigation has been transferred to the Puttenahalli Police Station. With video evidence now confirming the deliberate ramming, the case has been reclassified from a hit-and-run to murder.
