Bengaluru Rape Case: Engineering Student Alleges Rape by Junior Inside College Washroom

A student from a reputed private engineering college in Bengaluru has filed a formal complaint against a junior student, accusing him of rape. The incident reportedly took place in the college washroom, prompting the Hanumanthnagar police to register a case. The accused, identified as Vikas Gowda (21), has been apprehended by authorities.

According to the survivor-a seventh-semester student at the same college, the incident occurred on October 10, 2025. The victim had attended her class and later planned to collect some items from Vikas during lunch break. When they met, Vikas asked her for a private conversation and led her to a downstairs area.

The accused allegedly persuaded her to go to the seventh-floor PG block, where he attempted to kiss her. As she tried to escape, he followed her to the sixth floor, forcibly took her into a washroom, locked the door, and committed the crime.

The complaint further alleges that Vikas coerced her into unnatural sexual acts inside the men's restroom before committing rape. The traumatic experience left the victim deeply shaken.

After confiding in her close friends, who advised her to inform her parents, the victim approached the Hanumanthnagar police station and filed a formal complaint. Following the complaint, Vikas Gowda was arrested.
