Bengaluru Rain Horror: Tree Collapse Kills Toddler, Father Injured
A tragic accident in Bengaluru's Jeevanhalli area claimed the life of a three-year-old girl, Raksha, after a tree fell on her father's moving bike amid heavy rain and strong winds on Friday night.
Raksha was traveling with her father, Satya, when the incident occurred under the Pulakeshinagar police station limits. The tree, uprooted due to adverse weather, crashed onto the bike, severely injuring the child, who was seated in the front. She suffered critical head injuries and excessive bleeding.

Despite being rushed to a local hospital and later shifted to Bowring Hospital for further treatment, Raksha succumbed to her injuries. Her parents, Shakti and Satya, residents of Kullappa Circle near Kammanahalli, are devastated by the loss.
The accident has once again raised concerns about the safety of trees in Bengaluru, especially during the monsoon. BBMP East Zone Joint Commissioner Saroja Devi and BBMP Forest Unit Chief Rara Swamy visited the hospital and consoled the grieving family. Meanwhile, a Unnatural Death Report (UDR) has been registered at the Pulakeshinagar Police Station.
Raksha's uncle, Vijay, expressed his anguish, stating that the incident happened around 8:30 p.m. and despite all efforts, the child could not be saved. "The impact was severe, causing fatal injuries to Raksha and also breaking her father's spine. The BBMP needs to take responsibility and remove weak trees before such tragedies repeat," he urged.
The incident has sparked outrage among residents, who are calling for immediate action to assess and remove dangerous trees across the city to prevent further mishaps.
