Bengaluru: Protests erupt after 8-yr-old reportedly sexually harassed by teacher

Bengaluru, Jan 7: Angry parents protested outside a school in Bengaluru after an 8-year-old schoolgirl was allegedly sexually harassed by the PT teacher.

According to TV reports, the teacher has been working in the school for over 10 years. Police officials had to resort to mild lathi charge in order to disperse the protesters.

TV reports suggest that the teacher in question is a serial offender. Angry parents were seen pelting stones at the school building. Police officials had to lob tear gas shells at the protesters. Close to 500 protesters were at the school protesting against the incident.

The school has not yet issued a statement over the incident. Meanwhile the Bengaluru Police has assured necessary action.

The teacher in question was beaten up as police were taking him away for further questioning.
