Bengaluru Power Cut Today: Residents Slam BESCOM Over Hours-Long Electricity Cuts, Is Your Area On The List?

Several parts of Bengaluru reported prolonged power outages during the early hours of May 18, with frustrated residents taking to social media to complain about electricity cuts lasting several hours across multiple localities.

Residents from areas including HSR Layout Sector 4, Arekere, Vijaya Bank Layout and Anekal-Chandapura Road tagged BESCOM on social media, seeking immediate restoration of power supply.

One resident posted around 3:15 am that there had been no electricity since 1 am and claimed the issue had become an almost daily occurrence. The user also expressed frustration over repeated outages impacting residents in South Bengaluru.

Meanwhile, another resident from HSR Layout Sector 4 reported that the area had been without power since 9 pm on May 17, with supply still not restored by 3 am. Several users joined the discussion asking BESCOM for updates on restoration work.

Responding to the complaints, BESCOM stated that the issue had been informed to the concerned subdivision and assured residents that power supply would be restored at the earliest.

Complaints also surfaced from Anekal-Chandapura Road, where residents reported overnight disruptions. BESCOM later confirmed that a complaint docket had been registered and forwarded to the concerned subdivision office for action.
