Residents Flag Frequent Outages
A user, Naveen Agrahari, said power supply had been disrupted repeatedly over the last two to three days.
"For the last two days, there has been a power cut every second or third hour... Even now, there has been no electricity for two hours," he wrote, tagging BESCOM.
In a follow-up post, he added that outages had occurred six to seven times the previous day and had already happened multiple times again.
Another resident, Nitin Saxena, complained of power cuts lasting up to 9-10 hours daily over the last four days.
"We the people of Bangalore are suffering... BESCOM is not even taking it seriously," he wrote, tagging authorities including Siddaramaiah and D. K. Shivakumar.
Transformer Failure Alleged in Banasawadi
Some users pointed to a possible technical fault behind the outages. One complaint cited a failure of a 31.5 MVA transformer at the Banasawadi MUSS (Major Unit Substation), alleging that the issue had led to a three-day disruption.
"3+ day outage... is unacceptable. We need a definitive resolution timeline," the user wrote.
BESCOM Responds
Responding to multiple complaints, BESCOM said the issue had been forwarded to the concerned subdivision and would be resolved at the earliest.
"Inconvenience regretted," the utility said in its replies, while also requesting contact details in some cases for further assistance.
However, residents continued to express frustration over the lack of a clear timeline for restoration and recurring outages.
No Official Area-Wise List Yet
As of now, BESCOM has not released an official list of affected areas or a detailed explanation for the widespread disruptions. Complaints appear to be coming from multiple localities, suggesting a broader issue rather than isolated faults.
With temperatures rising and dependence on electricity increasing, residents have urged authorities to provide a clear update and ensure stable power supply across the city.
Facing Power Issues? BESCOM Asks Users to Register Complaints Online
Amid rising complaints over outages, the Bangalore Electricity Supply Company Limited has also highlighted a dedicated grievance redressal system for High Tension (HT) consumers.
In a recent communication, BESCOM said HT consumers can register electricity-related complaints through a specialised portal aimed at ensuring quicker response and resolution.
"Dear HT Consumers, for your electricity-related complaints, now get quick response and quick resolution. Register today on this portal specially created for existing HT consumers," the message stated, urging users to use the platform for seamless grievance registration.
High Tension (HT) consumers typically include industrial, commercial and institutional users that receive electricity at higher voltage levels, usually above 11 kV. These are designed for large-scale power consumption and differ from Low Tension (LT) users, which largely cover residential households and small businesses.
HT connections are commonly used by industries, commercial complexes, townships and educational institutions. They also follow specialised billing systems such as Time-of-Day (TOD) tariffs and use Maximum Demand Indicators (MDI) to track peak usage.
'HT Mitra' Platform for Faster Resolution
In Karnataka, BESCOM has introduced a digital platform called HT Mitra, aimed at streamlining complaint handling for over 18,000 HT consumers. The portal allows users to register grievances, track requests and receive updates via SMS.
The move is intended to provide faster resolution for large consumers, even as concerns persist among regular residents over frequent power disruptions in several parts of Bengaluru.
