Bengaluru Power Cut Today Reported Across Multiple Areas After Heavy Evening Rain, BESCOM Restoration Underway

Several parts of Bengaluru reported power outages on Tuesday evening after rain and strong winds affected electricity supply in parts of the city.

Areas including Kadubeesanahalli, Panathur, Frazer Town and Sahakar Nagar witnessed disruptions, with many residents complaining online about power cuts lasting for more than an hour.

BESCOM Receives Complaints From Multiple Areas

Residents took to X to tag Bangalore Electricity Supply Company (BESCOM), reporting outages and seeking quick restoration of power supply.

In one complaint, a resident from Munireddy Layout near Kadubeesanahalli said there was no electricity supply in the locality following the rain. BESCOM responded by confirming that a complaint had been registered and forwarded to the concerned subdivision for action.

Another complaint from Frazer Town stated that electricity had been unavailable for over one-and-a-half hours during the evening.

Residents from Sahakar Nagar also flagged outages, asking BESCOM officials to restore power as quickly as possible.

BESCOM Says Supply Restored In Some Areas

BESCOM later replied to several users stating that the issues had been resolved after local engineers and subdivision teams attended the affected locations.

In follow-up responses, the power utility said electricity supply had been restored in some areas after field verification.

However, scattered complaints regarding localised power cuts and fluctuations continued to surface online from parts of Bengaluru later in the night.

Rain Continues To Affect Bengaluru Commute

The power outages came amid continued evening rain across Bengaluru, which also affected traffic movement and metro services in parts of the city.

Heavy rain and strong winds frequently lead to localised electricity disruptions in Bengaluru, especially in neighbourhoods with overhead lines and dense tree cover.

BESCOM has not yet released an official city-wide assessment on the number of rain-related outages reported on Tuesday evening.
