Bengaluru Power Cut on September 28: Over 30+ Areas Affected With Day-Long Outage, Says BESCOM

Residents of Bengaluru should prepare for a scheduled power cut on Sunday, September 28, due to maintenance work across the city. Power will be interrupted in several areas between 10 am and 5 pm.

The scheduled maintenance is being carried out at the 66/11 kV Vijayanagar power station and the 220/66/11 kV SRS Peenya substation.

Residents in the following neighbourhoods will experience power cuts on September 28:

• Basaveshwaranagar
• Vijayanagar
• Govindarajanagar
• Kamakshipalya
• RPC Layout
• Prashanthnagar
• MC Layout
• Marenahalli
• Hosahalli
• Timmenahalli
• Vinayaka Layout
• Kaveripura
• Ranganathapura
• Syndicate Bank Colony
• Nagarbhavi
• Siddayya Puranik Road
• KHB Colony
• Magadi Main Road
• HGR Layout
• Agrahara Dasarahalli

In total, over 30 areas will be impacted by the power cut.

The Peenya area will also face power cuts on September 28. The affected stretches include:

• 10th and 11th Main Roads
• Areas around Udupi Hotel
• IR Polytechnic Road
• Lakshmidevi Nagar
• Lagere Old Village
• Lav Kush Nagar
• Rajiv Gandhi Nagar
• Chaudeshwari Nagar (6th to 9th Crosses)

BESCOM's Clarification on Billing Issues

Alongside the power cut, BESCOM has issued a clarification regarding recent billing discrepancies under the Gruha Jyoti scheme.

Meter readers have been assigned a survey using probes for the first time this September.

Due to this, some customers have received partial or incorrect bills. BESCOM has assured that revised bills will be issued after corrections. The electricity bill distribution deadline was extended from September 15 to September 25.

BESCOM also clarified that pending bills will be adjusted based on previous months' averages to ensure accuracy.
