Bengaluru Power Cut on July 26: These Areas to Face 6-Hour Outage, Says BESCOM

Residents in Bengaluru are advised to brace for a scheduled power cut on July 26. According to the Bangalore Electricity Supply Company (BESCOM), maintenance work by KPTCL will lead to electricity disruptions between 10:00 AM and 4:00 PM in several parts of the city.

Power cut: Areas Affected in Bengaluru

The following localities will experience outages during the maintenance window:

Malleswaram

MD Block

Vyalikaval

Kodandarampura

Other surrounding regions

BESCOM has requested residents in these areas to make necessary arrangements to avoid inconvenience.

Online Services Unavailable Across Karnataka

In addition to the Bengaluru power cut, online services for five ESCOMs across Karnataka will be temporarily unavailable due to essential IT system upgrades.

Service downtime starts: July 25, 8:30 PM

Service resumes by: July 27, 10:00 PM

Regions Where Online Services Will Be Affected

The temporary suspension will impact customers across multiple ESCOMs:

BESCOM: Urban subdivisions such as Chikkaballapur, Kolar, Kanakapura, Davanagere-1, and Tumkur-1

SESC (Chamundeshwari Electricity Supply Corporation): Mysore, Mandya, and Hassan

MESC (Mangalore Electricity Supply Company): Bantwal, Udupi, and Mangalore

JESC (Gulbarga Electricity Supply Company): Raichur and Bellary

HESC (Hubli Electricity Supply Company): Hubli-Dharwad and Belgaum

Alternative Payment Options

During the IT upgrade window, ESCOM websites and mobile apps, including BESCOM Mithra, will not be functional for online transactions. Additionally, services at Bangalore One and Karnataka One centres will also be unavailable. Consumers are advised to complete all essential transactions before the evening of July 25 to avoid last-minute issues.

The scheduled power cut and online service suspension are part of an effort to upgrade digital infrastructure and improve electricity service delivery across Karnataka.
