Bengaluru PG New Rules: Mandatory CCTV, Enhanced Scrutiny And More
New rules and increased vigilance are on the horizon for Bengaluru's paying guest (PG) accommodations. The city police department, aiming to improve safety and law enforcement, has laid out stricter regulations for both residents and owners. They are required to submit written information to PG owners, including identification proofs, recent photographs, and contact details. Additionally, documentation of visitors is recommended.
Mandatory CCTV Installation in PGs

It is mandated to install CCTV cameras in PG accommodations with a focus on security and adherence to fire safety protocols. Signboards displaying local police station, control room, ambulance, fire safety, and cybercrime helpline numbers are recommended.
For foreign nationals entering, compliance with registration rules and submission of written information to the local police station are required. A comprehensive background check is emphasized before appointing individuals, ensuring scrutiny and verification by the police.
Responsibility of PG Owners and Administrators
In PG accommodations, monitoring and promptly reporting activities involving narcotics and other illegal actions is crucial. PG owners and administrators will be held accountable for any unfavorable incidents resulting from neglecting essential security measures, according to police warnings.
