Bengaluru: No Vehicle Day observed in HSR Layout

Bengaluru, Sept 20: It was an unusual and peaceful day on Sunday, Sept 20 for the residents of HSR Layout in south-east Bengaluru.

For a change, there was no traffic, no pollution and no noise on the otherwise heavily-traffic laden roads of HSR Layout.

Only cycle riding people, playing and enjoying children were seen on the roads, as the entire area came to a life and the streets were reclaimed.

The 31-year-old locality remained close for private vehicles from 6 am to 9 pm. To make the Open Streets-Bengaluru initiative a successful one, Department of Urban Land Transport (DULT), BMTC, traffic police, police department, BMRC, department of forest ecology and environment, tourism department, BBMP and Karnataka State Pollution Control Board joined hands together.
