Bengaluru Namma Metro's Purple Line Service Disrupted Briefly Due To Technical Snag
Commuters on Bengaluru's Namma Metro experienced brief disruptions on the Purple Line on Thursday morning i.e June 13 due to a technical snag. The Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) announced the issue via social media, informing the public about the temporary service interruption.
At 9:58 am, a technical snag at the Trinity station caused a disruption in the train services. The affected train was later moved to the pocket track at Kempegowda Station Majestic, allowing for service restoration.

BMRCL took to X (formerly Twitter) to update the situation, stating, "Due to a technical snag at Trinity Station at 9:58 am today, train service got disrupted. Later, at Kempegowda Station Majestic, the faulty train was moved to the pocket track. Train services are restored and may take a minimum of an hour to return to normal. Inconvenience caused is regretted."
This is not a one-off incident. On June 10, a man jumped in front of a train at Hosahalli Metro station at 8:56 p.m., disrupting services for more than half an hour on the Purple Line.
On March 21, a 19-year-old student from the National Law School of India University, Bengaluru, fell onto the tracks at Attiguppe Metro Station on the Purple Line around 2 p.m. and was hit by an oncoming metro, resulting in his immediate death.
On January 5, a male commuter jumped in front of a train at Jalahalli Metro station at 7:12 p.m. He sustained injuries and was shifted to a private hospital.
The incident today caused delays for commuters during the busy morning hours. BMRCL has assured the public that efforts are being made to ensure smooth and uninterrupted services and has apologised for any inconvenience caused by the disruption.
