Bengaluru Man Cheats Woman of ₹60 Lakh in Jeevansathi Scam

Bengaluru police are investigating a case where a young man allegedly defrauded a woman he met on the matrimonial website Jeevansathi.com. The accused, identified as Shivalingesh from Bengaluru, allegedly deceived the victim by promising marriage and later extorting money under false pretenses.

Bengaluru Man Cheats Woman of 60 Lakh in Jeevansathi Scam

₹60 Lakh Swindled on Pretext of Medical Emergency

According to the victim's complaint, she met Shivalingesh on the matrimonial platform in December 2022. As their relationship progressed, they decided to marry. However, the accused soon fabricated a story, claiming that his mother had a severe brain condition requiring urgent treatment. Trusting him, the woman provided financial support in multiple installments, totaling ₹60 lakh.

Shocking Revelation: Gambling Addiction & Fraudulent History

As time passed, the victim grew suspicious of Shivalingesh's intentions. Upon investigating his background, she discovered shocking details about his fraudulent activities. A LinkedIn search revealed that he had taken money from several people under similar pretenses. Further inquiries uncovered that he was addicted to gambling, particularly casinos, and had used the money to fund his habits rather than for any medical emergencies.

Accused's Family Exposes His Fraud

Surprisingly, it was the accused's own family who confirmed his deceptive actions. A social media post by his relatives warned the public against lending him money. The post detailed how Shivalingesh had repeatedly fabricated stories about medical emergencies, land purchases, and banking issues to dupe people into giving him money. It was also revealed that:

  • He had taken over ₹20 lakh from his own family.
  • He had borrowed ₹50 lakh from friends under false pretenses.
  • He had taken loans ranging from ₹30-40 lakh from multiple banks.
  • His family urged people not to fall for his lies, as he had accumulated massive debts through fraudulent means.

After realising she had been conned, the victim filed a complaint at Mico Layout Police Station in Bengaluru. However, she later took to social media, posting on X (formerly Twitter) that despite her complaint, no action had been taken against the accused. She appealed to the authorities for immediate intervention.

The police are currently investigating the matter, and further action is expected soon.
