Bengaluru-Madurai Vande Bharat Express Timings, Routes, Ticket Fare

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will flag off much-awaited Vande Bharat Express connecting Bengaluru to Madurai on June 20.

The train leaves from Madurai railway station at 5:15 am and arrives in Bengaluru at 1:15 pm, according to the schedule.

On the return journey, the train leaves Bengaluru railway station at 1:45 pm, arrives at Salem at 5:00 pm, Trichy at 8:20 pm, and reaches Madurai Junction at 10:25 pm.

With this, the first dedicated direct train service between Madurai/Tiruchy and Bengaluru, covering the distance in eight hours and 15 minutes.

The Madurai-Bangalore Vande Bharat Express will make stops at Dindigul, Karur, Salem, Dharmapuri, and Hosur.

How Will the Madurai-Bengaluru Vande Bharat Express Train Reduce Travel Time?

The Madurai-Bengaluru daytime Vande Bharat train was initially set to operate with eight coaches. Since it is a daytime train, it is expected to initially run with eight coaches and then add coaches as needed. It will include two coaches for Executive Class and Chair Class, as is customary in Vande Bharat trains.

In Tamil Nadu, Southern Railway operates two Vande Bharat trains: one from Chennai to Coimbatore and another from Tirunelveli to Chennai. Additionally, a Vande Bharat train runs from Vijayawada to Chennai via Tirupati.

Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had virtually inaugurated the Bengaluru-Coimbatore Vande Bharat Express Train in December 2023.
