Bengaluru: Girl's body found in Lalbagh, morning walkers shocked
Bengaluru, Nov 13: People who went for a morning walk at the Lalbagh Botanical Garden on Wednesday were in for a rude shock when a girl's body was found floating in the lake here.
According to a report in Bangalore Mirror, DR Krishna, President of Lalbagh West-gate Walkers Association found a body floating in the lake when he was brisk-walking near the lake. At first glance he thought it was a huge plastic bag floating in the lake.
On a closer look, Krishna and others were shocked to see the body of a girl floating. That is when the police were informed and the body was pulled out of the lake. Though it was difficult to ascertain the cause of death initially, police officials say that the girl may have committed suicide following a failed love affair.
The police and the onlookers initially thought that it was a case of sexual assault on a minor until the police officials said that it was a case of suicide.
Police officials say that the girl was an orphan and lived in a care centre in Chamrajpet. She was missing since Tuesday and failed to return to the orphanage after school but people at the orphanage hand't filed a missing complaint.
No suicide note was found and police have registered a case of unnatural death. However what remains a worry is how did no one notice a girl jumping into the lake? People questioned the lack of security at Lalbagh following the incident.
