Bengaluru Party Gang Rape Allegation Met With ₹15 Lakh Extortion Counter Claim

The Bengaluru gang-rape case has grown more complex after police began probing two conflicting FIRs linked to the same Valentine's Day party at a private villa in Jakkur.

A 19-year-old psychology student has accused a 35-year-old businessman, identified as Nikhil, and his associate Dixon Sando of drugging and sexually assaulting her during the gathering. In a counter-complaint filed days later, however, Nikhil has alleged that the student attempted to extort ₹15 lakh from him following the party.

Police say both complaints are being treated as serious, with parallel investigations underway into the gang-rape FIR registered at Amruthahalli police station and the earlier extortion FIR filed at Malleshwaram on February 21. Officials have stressed that both matters will be examined independently, and no angle is being ruled out at this stage.

Forensic Teams Visit Jakkur Villa

Investigators have already sent forensic teams to the Jakkur villa where the private party took place and collected samples from the premises. Authorities are also reviewing the student's medical examination conducted on February 17.

Police officials say these reports, along with witness statements and digital evidence, will help determine the sections invoked and whether any arrests will follow in the coming days.

Survivor Alleges 'Pink Pill' At Party

In the complaint, the student has stated that she was invited to a private celebration at the villa where she was allegedly given a pink tablet. Soon after consuming it, she reported feeling dizzy and semi-conscious.

The survivor alleges that she was then sexually assaulted by the accused. She told police that the trauma from the incident delayed her decision to file an FIR and claimed that she received threats warning her against approaching authorities in the days following the gathering.

Accused Files Extortion Complaint

Nikhil has presented a sharply different version of events in his FIR lodged at Malleshwaram police station. According to his complaint, the student approached him at the party expressing interest in a "sugar daddy" arrangement, which he claims he declined.

He has alleged that the gang-rape accusation is a planned attempt to extract money, with the demand reaching ₹15 lakh. The businessman has further claimed that an accomplice posing as a journalist contacted him after the party and warned that "scandalous footage" from the villa would be aired unless payment was made.

Police are now attempting to verify the identity of this individual by tracing call records and digital footprints linked to the number provided by Nikhil.

CCTV Footage And Digital Evidence Under Review

Investigators are also analysing CCTV recordings from the villa to reconstruct movements during the party. Officials say the footage may help indicate the student's condition upon arrival and departure.

Police have reiterated that both the gang-rape and extortion complaints remain under active investigation as of February 24. Further action, they said, will depend on forensic findings, medical reports, CCTV footage and digital records gathered during the probe.
