Bengaluru Fridge Murder Case: Killer Chopped Body Parts Using Hacksaw blade

The Bengaluru police have revealed shocking and gruesome details surrounding the murder of 29-year-old Mahalakshmi in Vyalikaval area in Malleshwaram. The investigation points to Mukti Ranjan Roy as the prime suspect, who allegedly killed Mahalakshmi using a hacksaw blade. He then dismembered her body into 59 pieces and stored it in a fridge.

Mahalakshmi, a store manager at a mall where Mukti Ranjan also worked, had reportedly been pressuring him to marry her. This constant pressure led to frequent arguments between the two, with Mahalakshmi warning other women at work not to speak to Mukti Ranjan. Reports indicate that she became visibly angry if anyone mentioned him at her workplace, further exacerbating the tensions in their relationship. Mukti Ranjan, overwhelmed by her demands and controlling behavior, ultimately reached a breaking point.

In the death note found at the scene of his suicide in Bhunipur village, Odisha, Mukti Ranjan confessed to killing Mahalakshmi. He recounted that during a heated argument on September 3, Mahalakshmi allegedly slapped him, triggering his rage and leading to the murder. The note provided insight into their intimate relationship and expressed his regret over the crime. However, the murder weapon-a sharp hacksaw blade-has yet to be recovered by the police.

Following the murder, Mukti Ranjan fled Bengaluru, switching off his mobile phone on September 3 to avoid detection. He successfully evaded authorities who had been tracking his phone activity. The police traced him to West Bengal and subsequently to Odisha, but despite their efforts, he committed suicide before they could question him.

The investigation raises numerous questions, particularly regarding the dismemberment of Mahalakshmi's body. Forensic experts are examining whether Mukti Ranjan drained her blood before dismembering her, as no blood splatter was found at the crime scene. This detail, alongside the method of dismemberment, is under thorough investigation by the Vyalikaval police.

Mukti Ranjan's death note is pivotal to the case. Written in a small diary found near his body, it outlines crucial information about the events leading to the murder. The confession indicates that personal issues and escalating frustration drove Mukti Ranjan to commit the act, making him the primary suspect in the investigation.

A Bengaluru police team is currently in Odisha, collaborating closely with local authorities to gather additional evidence. Mukti Ranjan's personal belongings, including his bag, laptop, and mobile phone, were recovered at the suicide site. The police are now focusing on obtaining the preliminary post-mortem report and will soon return to Bengaluru with further information from his family and local authorities.
