Bengaluru Flower Show 2026: Lalbagh Blossoms for Republic Day with Poornachandra Tejaswi Tribute

This Republic Day, Lalbagh Botanical Garden transforms into a kaleidoscope of colors as the 219th Lalbagh Flower Show swings open its gates. Running from 14 January to 26 January, the show promises 13 days of floral magic, artful installations, and immersive nature-inspired themes - making it one of Karnataka's most iconic and anticipated events.

The event opens with a formal inauguration at 4 PM on 14 January at Lalbagh's iconic Glass House, attended by the Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister, and members of the Tejaswi family. By 5:00 PM, the gardens open to visitors ready to step into a world where literature, culture, and horticulture intertwine.

This year, the spotlight is on Poornachandra Tejaswi, the writer, environmentalist, and lover of nature whose stories celebrated forests, wildlife, and rural life. The flower show brings his world to life with floral recreations of forest landscapes, animal sculptures, and key moments from his writings.

Beyond literary homage, the exhibition offers artificial hills, flowing streams, and miniature village scenes inspired by the Biligirirangana Hills. Folk culture is celebrated with miniature dollu kunita displays, traditional craft exhibits, and Nandigiri Dham recreations, blending artistry and storytelling through flowers.

Organizers are showcasing over 95 flower varieties, with blooms sourced from Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Maharashtra, Darjeeling, and Wayanad. A staggering 32 lakh flowers will adorn the gardens, including 27 lakh grown in Lalbagh itself. Every corner of the Glass House and lawns is designed to mesmerize visitors while maintaining plant health.

Visitors' Experience

Tickets are priced at ₹80 on weekdays and ₹100 on holidays for adults, ₹30 for children, with free entry for kids under six. With an expected footfall exceeding 10 lakh visitors, the organizers have prepared special parking and crowd management arrangements, ensuring a smooth and immersive experience.
