Bengaluru: Driver speeds away with Rs 1.37 crore meant for ATM

The man allegedly drove away with Rs 1.37 crore in new Rs 500 and Rs 2000 currency notes that was meant to replenish a BOI ATM.

The driver of a van carrying cash to an ATM drove away with Rs 1.37 crore in Bengaluru on Wednesday. The man whose identity is yet to be ascertained was driving the cash filled van to Bank Of India ATM. The man allegedly drove away with Rs 1.37 crore in new Rs 500 and Rs 2000 currency notes that was meant to replenish a BOI ATM.

The Bengaluru police are on the lookout for the man who made away with the cash van from K G road of Bengaluru at around 2.10 PM on Wednesday. The driver was hired on a contract basis from a private security agency. The police are now trying to trace the driver with details available from the agency.

The Upparpet police in the city registered a case on the basis of a complaint filed by a gunman attached to the police station.
