Bengaluru Crime: Gambling, Cricket Betting Top The List
According to the crime cases data for 2024 shared by Bengaluru City Police, cases of matka, cricket betting, and other gambling have peaked in recent months. The Bengaluru police arrested nearly 250 accused registering 27 and 34 cases of gambling and cricket betting respectively, which was the highest among all crimes in the capital of Karnataka.
The data suggested that police held 40 individuals under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. Bengaluru police filed 38 cases in January, 48 in February, 38 in March, 43 in April and 26 in May.

While one case involving arms was also registered by the city police, however, no arrest was made in the same.
