Bengaluru Building Collapse: Owner And Contractor Taken Into Custody
Bengaluru police arrested the owner and detained the contractor of the multi-storied building that collapsed on Tuesday, resulting in five fatalities and numerous injuries. The owner, Bhuvan Reddy, is the son of Munireddy, under whose name the building was constructed.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (East) D. Devaraj confirmed, "The contractor, Muniyappa, who constructed the four floors, has also been taken into custody."

The deceased include Arman, 26; Tripal, 35; and Mohamed Sahil, 19, all from Bihar, along with Sathya Raju, 25, and another victim named Shankar, whose age is currently unknown.
Police reported that several individuals are receiving treatment at the hospital, including Jagadevi, 45; Rasheed, 28; Nagaraju, 25; Ramesh Kumar, 28; Arman, 22; and Ayaz. Eighteen people have been rescued so far.
The building, located in Anjanadri Layout within the Hennur police station limits, collapsed around 3:40 PM. Fire and Emergency Services confirmed that the control room was alerted at 4:10 PM.
