Bengaluru Bomb Scare: Gelatin Sticks, Detonators Found Near Kalasipalya Bus Stand Toilet
A bomb scare triggered panic in western Bengaluru on Wednesday after six gelatin sticks and several detonators were found in a carry bag placed outside the public toilet at the Kalasipalya BMTC bus stand.
The suspicious bag was spotted by locals, who promptly alerted the authorities. Police teams and the bomb disposal squad rushed to the spot and cordoned off the area. Commuters were evacuated as a precaution, and the bus stand premises were searched thoroughly.

A senior police officer at the scene confirmed the presence of six gelatin sticks and detonators inside the abandoned bag. The material has since been safely secured and sent for forensic examination.
The Deputy Commissioner of Police (West) confirmed the incident, stating that six gelatin sticks and a few detonators-found separately-were recovered from a carry bag left outside the toilet at the Kalasipalya BMTC bus stand. "An FIR is yet to be filed," the officer added.
One of the eyewitnesses, an employee working at the public toilet, said the bag was left behind by a man who had come in to use the facility. "We usually keep such bags aside, assuming people will return for them. But when no one came back, we alerted the guard. We don't know who the person was," the staffer explained.
As of now, officials have not disclosed the source of the explosives or identified any suspects. The matter is under investigation.
What are gelatin sticks?
Gelatin sticks are industrial explosives used primarily for construction and mining activities-such as building roads, tunnels, and railways. On their own, they are not dangerous but require a detonator to explode.
