The unfortunate event occurred on Wednesday around 11 am as Kiran Kumar, aged 40, was navigating the bus from Nelamangala to Dasanapura on its last journey of the day, as confirmed by officials. The moment of the driver's distress was captured on CCTV, showing him suddenly leaning forward before collapsing to his left, which resulted in the vehicle losing control and brushing against another bus operated by the Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC).

The quick-thinking actions of the bus conductor, Obalesh, who took immediate control of the bus, bringing it to a safe halt, were pivotal in ensuring the safety of all passengers on board. After securing the vehicle, Obalesh wasted no time in rushing Kumar to a nearby hospital in hopes of saving him. However, despite his efforts, the medical team declared the driver deceased.

"It is with great sadness that we announce the untimely demise of Kiran Kumar, a driver from Depot 40, who passed away due to a sudden heart attack on November 6. The Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) expresses its deepest condolences to the family of Kiran Kumar. The corporation prays for the peace of his soul," stated the BMTC in a heartfelt message. To further extend their support, senior officials from the BMTC paid a visit to Kumar's grieving family to offer compensation during this difficult period.
