Ashwini Vashnaw Unveils India's Cutting-Edge Router
The project is spearheaded by the collaboration of the government's Department of Telecom, CDOT, and Nivetti, marking a momentous achievement in India's journey towards becoming a major product and manufacturing hub in the global tech landscape.
Vaishnaw expressed pride in the indigenously developed router, highlighting its capacity of 2.4 tbps and its significance in realizing the Prime Minister's vision of Digital India. Minister Vaishnaw emphasized the pivotal role of networking in India's Digital India efforts, underscoring the importance of core routers like the one launched. He expressed satisfaction that such complex equipment has been designed, developed, and made in India.
Highlighting India's technological advancements over the past decade, Vaishnaw noted that the launch of the 2.4 tbps router aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision for digital India. He emphasized the transformative shift in manufacturing paradigms towards software-driven processes and intellectual prowess.
Vaishnaw outlined India's dual focus on service and manufacturing, underscoring the importance of becoming a product nation. He highlighted the significant role of software and design capabilities in modern manufacturing, positioning India as a major player in the global market.
The Nivetti router, capable of handling 2.4 tbps data, signifies a leap in networking technology, promising to enhance India's digital infrastructure and meet the increasing demand for high-speed data processing and transmission. The achievement is directly attributed to the government's concerted efforts to create an enabling environment for innovators through policy measures, financial incentives, and a regulatory framework aimed at eliminating obstacles and encouraging development.
Reflecting on the global tradition of nurturing innovation through supportive policies, the government's commitment to enhancing market opportunities, boosting exports, and streamlining regulations to aid innovators was reiterated by Minister Vaishnaw.
The initiatives introduced under Prime Minister Modi's leadership, including design-linked innovation, production-linked incentives (PLI), and a variety of startup-friendly schemes, are set to be scaled up significantly, to propel India to the forefront of global innovation and product development.
