Bengaluru Airport Rolls Out New Facilities for Kids and Families
Bengaluru's Kempegowda International Airport serves millions of passengers annually. To enhance the travel experience, the airport has introduced new facilities, making it more passenger-friendly. Special attention is given to young travellers and those carrying bags, ensuring a more comfortable journey for families.
Parents travelling with children can now benefit from 'handbag trolleys with baby carriers' at Terminals 1 and 2. This facility aims to ease the burden on parents, providing convenience while navigating the expansive terminal with children.

Enhanced Facilities for Young Travellers
The baby carriers are specifically designed for young passengers aged between two months and four years. They offer a comfortable ride for children and assist parents in managing both their child and luggage single-handedly.
When arriving at the airport with children and large bags, boarding passes can be obtained without hassle. The introduction of these trolley bags helps alleviate common inconveniences faced by parents during travel.
Language Inclusivity at Bengaluru Airport
Kempegowda International Airport has recently embraced Kannada in its communication systems. Passengers can now access flight lists, schedules, and timings in Kannada, alongside English and Hindi. This inclusion marks a significant step towards linguistic inclusivity at the airport.
The Karnataka government is actively working on establishing a second international airport in Bengaluru due to increasing passenger pressure on the existing one. The Airports Authority of India (AAI) team has inspected three potential sites but has yet to submit a report to the state government.
Plans for Bengaluru's Second Airport
Once the report is submitted, further processes like planning and tendering will commence. The need for an additional airport arises from the growing annual passenger numbers at Bengaluru's current airport.
