Bengaluru Airport Operations to Halt for Aero India 2025 – Full Schedule Inside
Bengaluru's Kempegowda International Airport, the third largest in India, is set to face significant operational disruptions in February 2025. Both runways will be closed for varying durations between February 5 and February 14 to accommodate the biennial Aero India show at the nearby Air Force Station in Yelahanka.
Disruption Schedule

Starting February 5, the airport will be closed for six hours daily until February 8. On February 13 and 14, closures will be divided into two three-hour blocks, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM and 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
On February 9, operations will halt from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM. February 10, the event's inaugural day, will see closures from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM and 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM. The following two days, February 11 and 12, will experience shorter disruptions from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM.
Event Details
Aero India will be open to business visitors from February 10 to 12, while February 13 and 14 are reserved for the general public, featuring additional aerial displays and airport closures.
Bengaluru Airport averages 743 daily flight movements, with departures and arrivals almost evenly split. Data from Cirium shows a 5.3% rise in movements and an 8.6% increase in available seats since the last Aero India show in 2023.
However, during peak hours, the airport handles over 40 movements, making it challenging to reschedule all flights within the limited operational windows. This is likely to result in flight cancellations and disruptions, affecting passengers, airlines, and even travelers connecting through Bengaluru.
Passengers should expect potential delays, cancellations, or rescheduling. Airlines are currently revising their schedules, and updates will be shared once adjustments are finalized. Travelers are advised to keep their contact information updated with airlines and travel agencies to receive timely notifications and replan their journeys accordingly.
As one of the fastest-growing aviation markets, India relies heavily on smooth airport operations to maintain business momentum. Bengaluru Airport, which recently surpassed 40 million annual passengers, plays a crucial role in domestic and international connectivity. Disruptions of this scale can impact both business travelers and Aero India visitors.
