Bengaluru Car Accident: In a devastating accident in Nelamangala in Bengaluru on NH 48, a family of six tragically lost their lives when a container truck toppled and crushed their Volvo car.

The victims, including two women and two children, were on their way to Vijayapura when the fatal incident occurred. The car, bearing registration number KA 01 ND1536, was flattened under the weight of the container, leaving no survivors.

Reports indicate that the accident happened when two cars came in front of the truck, forcing the driver to veer to the right to avoid a collision. This sudden manoeuvre caused the truck to skid and topple onto the oncoming Volvo, resulting in a catastrophic crash. Visuals circulating on social media show authorities working at the accident site, retrieving bodies from the mangled remains of the car.

The incident led to severe traffic disruptions on the Bengaluru-Tumkur National Highway. The SP Bengaluru District Police shared updates and images from the site, confirming slow-moving traffic in the Nelamangala area and urging commuters to cooperate. The Nelamangala City Traffic Police quickly arrived at the scene to manage the situation, but the accident caused a traffic jam stretching for kilometres.

SP Bengaluru District Police shared the pictures from the accident spot and wrote, "Slow-moving traffic in Bengaluru-Tumkur national highway due to vehicle accidents between canter and car near Beguru in Nelmangla.Kindly co-operate."

The process of identifying the victims has begun, while Kannada news outlets continue to report on the tragedy. The accident has sparked discussions about road safety and the risks associated with heavy vehicle operations on highways.

Meanwhile, the traffic flow has come to normalcy on the highway. "The accident spot with the rummaged vehicles near Nelamangala has been cleared and the traffic is moving smoothly from both the sides," SP Bengaluru District Police said in a latest tweet.
