BBMP Polls: Techies to contest on Lok Satta party ticket
Bengaluru, Aug 11: As the BBMP elections are scheduled to be held on Saturday, Aug 22, two techies have quit their high-paying jobs, to serve the society, through politics.
33-year-old N Rohith Simha and 41-year-old Lakshmi Moola will contest on Lok Satta Party ticket. Both techies have started their online campaign. [All you need to know about BBMP elections: Explained]

Rohith, who was working with Bosch, has filed his nomination from Katriguppe ward-163 in south Bengaluru.

On his Facebook Page, Rohith on Sunday, Aug 9, posted, "people are frustrated and dejected by the traditional parties. They are looking forward for some new ideas, new vision, new methodologies and new way of administration. I can truly say that Loksatta is the only answer to all the above ambition. Most of them agree that a fair chance should be given to new people."
In his online campaign, http://www.loksatta.org/rohith, Rohith has appealed to voters, "I am an ordinary citizen like you. I decided to join politics and contest elections, to bring in change to end the lethargy in administration, bring in transparency, accountability in services and save our city from non-performers."
"Honest politics needs honest money. I need your help in building a strong campaign that reaches all the voters", he said.
Rohith has over 11 years of industry experience in Test Architecture, Process Definition, Audit & Product Development. He completed his Master of Science (MS) in Quality Management from Bits Pilani in 2010.

Lakshmi Moola, who was working as a Psychologist and an HR Professional, filed her nomination from Pattabhiram Nagar, ward-168, near Jayanagar.
She is concerned about basic issues such as roads, traffic, pot holes, safety, sewage, parking and garbage.
In 2012, Lakshmi had taken part in India Against Corruption movement led by-activist Anna Hazare.
Besides social media campaign, both of them will also go for door-to-door campaigning and will participate in public debates.
Lok Satta Party was founded by Jayaprakash Narayan, a renowned activist from Andhra Pradesh, in 2006.
