Bangalore Metro Services To Start At Early On Sunday, December 8– Here’s Why
The Bengaluru Metro rail service will operate earlier than usual on Sunday, December 8, to accommodate candidates appearing for the Karnataka Public Service Commission (KPSC) examination for Panchayat Development Officers.
Departing from its regular Sunday start time of 7 am, the Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation Ltd (BMRCL) announced that train services will begin at 5:30 am from all four terminals-Madavara, Silk Institute, Challaghatta, and Whitefield (Kadugodi) Metro stations.

To support candidates attending the KPSC-PDO examination on December 8, 2024 (Sunday), BMRCL will begin train services earlier at 5:30 am, instead of the usual 7:00 am. The first train departing from Nadaprabhu Kempegowda Station in Majestic toward all four directions will also commence at 5:30 am, as stated by BMRCL. From 5:30 am to 7:00 am, trains will operate every 30 minutes.
After 7:00 am, services will return to the regular Sunday schedule.
On typical weekdays, Bengaluru Metro runs from 5 am to 11 pm, with train frequencies varying from three to five minutes during peak hours. On holidays and the second and fourth Saturdays of the month, trains operate every 10 to 15 minutes from 5 am to 7 am, and then every eight minutes until 9 pm. BMRCL also extends service hours for events, including cricket matches and New Year celebrations.
