A concerned user who came across the account shared it on X (formerly Twitter), tagging Bengaluru Police and urging immediate action against the "pervert." This triggered a wave of responses, with other social media users, citizen groups, and influencers amplifying the call for swift justice.

Bengaluru Central MP PC Mohan condemned the act as "a blatant violation of privacy and dignity, not just creepy but a serious crime," and directed the police to take prompt action against the offender.

Other social media users expressed their shock at the account's large following. X user That Nair Guy (@surajv369) wrote, "This is very creepy and dangerous for all women travellers. Please amplify so that he is punished soon."

Similarly, Adarsh Kharvi (@Adarshkharvi1) and Abhay Chaturvedi (@AbhayLearner) called for strict punishment and immediate arrest of the person handling the account.

After backlash, the instagram account may have been removed.

Responding to the backlash, BL Yashavanth Chavan, Chief Public Relations Officer of Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL), told Moneycontrol, "We have come across an account on Instagram and Telegram where a user has posted pictures of women passengers without their consent. We will soon register a police complaint against the user. A cyber complaint will also be filed to remove the account. We will not tolerate anything that compromises the safety of our passengers."

Meanwhile, Bengaluru City Police Commissioner B Dayananda assured that a case has been registered at Banashankari police station and said, "The accused will be traced and arrested."

The incident has raised serious concerns about privacy and the safety of women commuters on public transport in Bengaluru.
