B'lore ATM attack: Victim had gone to withdraw money for child's gift

Bangalore, Nov 20: The husband of the victim who was brutally assaulted by a man inside an

kiosk here on Tuesday morning said his wife had gone to the ATM withdraw

to buy a gift for their daughter whose birthday is on November 22.

Speaking to Times Now news channel, the husband of Jyothi Uday, the 44-year-old woman who was critically injured in the attack, said she had told the attacker that there was very little money in her account.

Jyothi, a manager at the Corporation Bank's Mission Road branch, was hit with a machete by the man and was left bleeding and her attacker fled with her money (Rs 2,500 cash) and mobile phone.

Her condition was though reportedly stable but her right side was paralysed.

The culprit, whose images were caught by the CCTV in the ATM kiosk, was yet to be arrested.
