Baiyappanahalli-Krishnarajapuram Metro Line Safety Check On September 21

Namma Metro Purple Line Update: After several delays, the Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation (BMRCL) has announced that the Commissioner of Metro Rail Safety (CMRS) will inspect the much-awaited Krishnarajapura-Baiyappanahalli line on September 21. The 2-kilometer metro stretch on the purple line is likely to be launched by the end of September, if the CMRS gives an approval after the inspection.

During this period, metro train services will be unavailable between specific stations on Thursday.

Train services will be suspended between Krishnarapura and Garudacharpalya on Thursday. Additionally, there will be a disruption in train services between Baiyappanahalli and Indiranagar from 1:30 pm to 4:30 pm on Thursday.

However, trains will continue to operate between Whitefield (Kadugodi) and Garudacharpalya, as well as between Indiranagar and Kengeri from 1:30 pm to 4:30 pm.

The BMRCL press release stated that regular train services will be available between Baiyappanahalli and Kengeri Metro stations before 1:30 pm and after 4:30 pm, up to 11 pm.

Please note that there will be no changes to train operations on the Green Line.

If the Commissioner of Metro Rail Safety (CMRS) approves it following the inspection, the 2.1 km stretch on the purple line connecting Krishnarajapura and Baiyappanahalli is expected to be inaugurated by the end of this month.

The BMRCL had previously mentioned that daily ridership on the metro is projected to reach 7.5 lakh after the stretch between Baiyappanahalli and KR Puram is operational.
