Atul Subhash Suicide Case: False Case Filed Against Bengaluru Techie, ₹3 Cr Demanded By Wife, Claims Brother

In a tragic incident that unfolded in Bengaluru, a 34-year-old deputy general manager of a private firm, Atul Subhash, took his own life, leaving a detailed 24-page note that accuses his wife Nikita Singhania, her relatives, and a judge of driving him to suicide. The note, imbued with pleas for justice, highlights a saga of alleged harassment, extortion, and corruption.

Subhash, a resident of Uttar Pradesh, had been living in Bengaluru where the distressing event occurred. The police were alerted about the suicide early Monday morning, finding Subhash's lifeless body hanging from a ceiling fan upon breaking into his locked flat in Delfinium Residency, Manjunatha Layout.

The profound despair felt by Subhash was not only directed towards his immediate family but also implicated members of the judiciary. In his meticulously penned note, Subhash accused a principal family court judge in Uttar Pradesh's Jaunpur, alongside an officer in the court, of corruption, alleging they took bribes openly. This accusation adds a layer of complexity to the case, hinting at systemic issues that may have compounded his distress. Subhash’s note was a desperate call for justice, stating "Justice is Due" on each page, underscoring his plea to be heard even in death.

Subhash's grievances extended beyond personal disputes, touching on legal battles that he found himself entangled in. He revealed in his note that his wife had lodged nine cases against him, covering serious allegations ranging from murder to domestic violence. This onslaught of legal challenges not only strained his personal life but also placed him under immense pressure, eventually contributing to his tragic decision. His story, as outlined in the note, paints a picture of a man beleaguered by legal and familial strife.

In a heart-wrenching revelation, Subhash also mentioned his four-year-old son, who he claimed was kept away from him, adding a layer of emotional torment to his narrative. He expressed a wish for his parents to gain custody of his child, indicating his concern for his son's welfare amidst the turmoil. Subhash's final message was not just a litany of accusations but also a father's plea for his child's future.

Following the discovery of Subhash's body, the police were informed by his brother, Bikas Kumar, who lodged a complaint against Subhash's wife and her family. The complaint detailed allegations of a false complaint against Subhash, coupled with a demand for Rs 3 crore for settlement, leading to significant mental and physical duress. This complaint led to the initiation of an investigation under the BNS Act, as the authorities seek to unravel the circumstances that led to Subhash's demise.

As part of his final messages, Subhash recorded a video detailing the alleged harassment he faced and requested his family not to immerse his ashes until justice was served. This video, alongside his suicide note, was sent to a WhatsApp group of an NGO he was associated with, ensuring his story reached beyond his immediate circle.
