Ambedkar Banners Vandalised In Mysuru Village, Police Launch Probe
Authorities in Karnataka's Mysuru district have launched an investigation after five banners of B R Ambedkar were allegedly torn down by unidentified individuals in Vajamangala village.
The incident, which occurred late on Friday night, has sparked strong reactions from the local community.

The banners had been installed ahead of Ambedkar Jayanthi celebrations on 14 April, with the Gram Panchayat granting permission for them to remain in place until the end of the month.
In response to the act of vandalism, villagers staged a protest on Saturday morning, voicing their anger. Police officers were deployed to the scene to pacify the demonstrators and gave assurances that those responsible would be dealt with firmly.
Mysuru Superintendent of Police, P N Vishnuvardhana, confirmed that a case has been registered and an investigation is ongoing. "We are actively looking into the matter," he stated.
As part of the probe, forensic specialists have examined the scene and collected fingerprint evidence. Police have also reviewed CCTV footage from several locations along the route where the banners were displayed, in an effort to identify the perpetrators.
Although the situation in Vajamangala has since calmed, security measures in the area have been increased as a precaution.
