Aero India 2025: Bengaluru To Host Asia’s Biggest Air Show Starting February 10

Bengaluru is set to host the biennial air show, Aero India 2025, from February 10 to 14 at the Indian Air Force (IAF) Yelahanka airbase, as reported by Deccan Herald.

Organized by the Ministry of Defence, Aero India receives support from various agencies, including the Department of Defence Production, IAF, Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), the Department of Space, and the Union Civil Aviation Ministry.

The event will showcase thrilling performances from the IAF's Sukhoi fighters, the Surya Kiran Aerobatic Team, and the Sarang Helicopter Display Team. A teaser for Aero India 2025 has already been released, generating excitement for the upcoming event, according to DH.

In 2025, American and French aerospace giants Boeing and Dassault Aviation-producers of the F-16/18 and Rafale jets, respectively-will be vying for multi-billion-dollar fighter jet contracts with the Indian government, making Aero India a crucial venue for these negotiations.

HAL, which manufactures the Tejas fighter jets, is looking to secure contracts with developing countries in the Middle East, South America, and Southeast Asia. In 2023, HAL also signed a Memorandum of Understanding with UAE-based medical service provider Response Plus Holdings to export helicopter platforms for emergency services, marking a significant achievement for India's aviation sector.

The previous edition of the air show in 2023 featured 809 exhibitors, including 110 foreign and 699 Indian participants. Many fighter aircraft and helicopters performed in the skies, while Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated a defence exhibition. The IAF's Tejas aircraft-a lightweight, highly agile, multi-role supersonic fighter-was one of the major highlights of Aero India 2023.
