In a dramatic turn of events, Kannada actor Darshan, accused in the Renuka Swamy murder case, was transferred to Ballari Jail under heavy police escort. The relocation process commenced at 4 a.m., and after a five-hour journey, the convoy arrived in Ballari at approximately 9:55 a.m.

Earlier that day, Deputy Commissioner Prashant Kumar Mishra, Superintendent of Police Dr. Shobha Rani, and Ballari prison Superintendent R. Latha coordinated measures for the smooth transfer of Darshan, who is highly popular among Karnataka's film fans. A heavy police presence was required outside Ballari prison due to the large crowd of fans eager to catch a glimpse of the actor.

On August 29, a team of over a dozen prison officials and Bengaluru City Police set out from Parappana Agrahara Central prison at 4:30 a.m. Darshan was moved to a police van at the Chikkaballapura toll gate, and the vehicle reached Ballari prison around 9:30 a.m. To avoid media attention and enhance security, Darshan was escorted via the Andhra Pradesh route and was handed over to Ballari prison authorities after completing the necessary formalities.

Previously held at Parappana Agrahara Jail, Darshan and his associates were relocated following a viral photograph showing them drinking coffee and smoking cigarettes inside the jail, which sparked public outrage. In response to this breach of jail regulations, authorities decided to transfer Darshan and his associates to various jails across Karnataka.

Upon arrival at Ballari Jail, Darshan's appearance-wearing a branded T-shirt and sunglasses, with his handcuffs covered by a cloth-fueled speculation about possible preferential treatment. The controversy surrounding Darshan's transfer highlights ongoing concerns about the enforcement of jail protocols for high-profile inmates, as his alleged involvement in the brutal murder of Renuka Swamy continues to capture public and media attention.
