A bus-stop gets 'stolen' in Bangalore, civic body clueless

While BBMP, the local civic body, has alleged that the 20-year-old bus stop has been stolen, the police have taken a few people into custody on charges of stealing the property made of steel, the report said. It also added that some local residents accused a local property owner of having removed the bus stop overnight. The concerned person has rubbished the allegations.
A board has been put up at the place where the bus-stop once existed, saying that it has been shifted by the BBMP, the latter has no idea about what went wrong.
the BBMP, which, however, is clueless about what happened to it.
The disappearance of the bus-stop has put the local people in a lot of difficulty. With the monsoons already here, the lack of shelter is causing much inconvenience, particularly to the children and elderly people.
The bus-stop went missing sometime in April end and the local residents filed a complaint with the joint commissioner of the BBMP in Rajarajeshwarinagar zone about it. The matter was raised again on May 5. The BBMP, subsequently, approached the police and an FIR under Section 379 of the Indian Penal Code was filed. The civic authorities asked the police to restore the bus-stop and ensure its safety in the future.
The local people are not concerned about who did the mischief as much as they are about restoring it back, the report said.
