37-Year-Old Bengaluru Woman's Suicide Bid Foiled By Firefighters, Mother And Child Taken To Safety
A dramatic rescue operation in Bengaluru's Whitefield area prevented a mother from ending her life and that of her 5-year-old child. The 37-year-old woman allegedly leaked gas from a cylinder within their apartment in a suspected suicide attempt.

Family members alerted authorities after failing to reach the woman and hearing no response at the door. Firefighters arrived promptly and swiftly secured entry. Videos show personnel forcing open the apartment with a rod, rescuing the woman and child within.
Video footage shows authorities forcibly entering the residence using a rod. After gaining access, the footage shows the woman resisting the authorities while clinging to a matchbox, attempting to ignite herself. Firefighters bravely intervened and disarmed her, preventing further harm.
This distressing incident took place at Srinidhi Alliance Apartments in Nagondanahalli, under the jurisdiction of the Whitefield Police Station.
Thanks to the prompt response of the firefighters, two lives were spared from a potentially tragic outcome.
Reportedly, the woman, distressed by ongoing family conflicts, resorted to this extreme action while her husband was away at work.
