25-Year-Old Bengaluru Woman Loses Rs 8.2 Lakh In Attempt To Win Back Ex Using 'Black Magic'

A 25-year-old woman in Bengaluru incurred a financial loss of Rs 8.2 lakh after seeking the services of an astrologer. The astrologer had promised to use black magic to facilitate a reunion with her ex-boyfriend and ensure her parents' support for their relationship.

In the throes of emotional turmoil following her breakup, Rahil sought solace from an astrologer named Ahmed, whom she discovered online, along with his associates Abdul and Liyakhatulla on December 9. Ahmed asserted that black magic had been cast upon Rahil, her friends, and her family, causing disruptions in her life. To counteract this supposed spell, he prescribed specific rituals, demanding a payment of Rs. 501.

Once Rahil digitally transferred the initial amount, Ahmed escalated the situation by requesting photographs of Rahil, her friends, and family members. Subsequently, he suggested performing black magic rituals on her ex-boyfriend and parents for a hefty sum of Rs. 2.4 lakhs, promising their support for her relationship. Driven by desperation, Rahil reluctantly agreed and handed over the cash to Ahmed's associates on December 22.

However, the financial demands did not abate. A few days later, Ahmed insisted on an additional Rs. 1.7 lakhs. Growing suspicious of foul play, Rahil refused to comply, leading Ahmed to resort to abuse and threats of revealing intimate photos with her former boyfriend to her parents. Yielding to the pressure, Rahil ended up making multiple digital transactions totaling Rs. 4.1 lakhs by January 10.

Upon discovering Rahil's substantial financial loss, her parents urged her to seek legal intervention, prompting her to file an FIR with the Jalahalli police. During the investigation, it was revealed that the money had been transferred to Ahmed's associate Liyakhatulla's account. A police officer commented, "Ahmed claimed Rahil forced him to perform black magic and promised to return her money. However, his mobile number is currently switched off."
