23-Year-Old Bengaluru YouTuber Arrested For Faking 24-Hour Airport Stay
Bengaluru police arrested a 23-year-old YouTuber on Wednesday for allegedly attempting to record videos inside the airport without being detected, as reported by The Indian Express. The individual, identified as Vikas Gowda, purchased an Air India ticket from Bengaluru to Chennai as a means to gain access to the airport but did not board the flight.
Vikas, known for his YouTube vlogs, planned to film an airport vlog by spending 24 hours within the airport premises. He entered the airport at 12:06 pm on April 7 and began recording videos, asserting that he would not be apprehended. In his video, Vikas criticized the airport's security measures, claiming he was not questioned by any police official despite his prolonged stay.

However, police investigations revealed that Vikas had not actually spent 24 hours in the airport. "Our investigation determined that Vikas was inside the airport for only four to five hours, not 24 hours as claimed. He admitted to doing it for publicity and to attract views to his channel."
Vikas has been charged under sections 505 (statements conducing to public mischief) and 448 (house of trespass) of the Indian Penal Code. He was subsequently released on bail and instructed to return for further questioning.
