Celebrations broke out as the infant Satvik Satish Mujagond, who was trapped at a depth of 16 feet inside the borewell, was brought out safely. He was immediately shifted to the ambulance which was stationed at the spot with a medical team.

The child accidentally fell into the borewell while playing near his residence. The incident came to light when a passerby heard the child's cries and alerted the family.

"Rescue operations began around 6.30 pm. Police teams, revenue officials, members of taluk panchayat and officials from the fire and emergency services department are here at the spot. All efforts are underway to rescue the child," a senior police officer said.

New agencies ANI and PTI have shared the clips of the rescue operation.

"We have dropped pipes to supply oxygen to the child. We have been able to notice some movement. The rescue operations are going on in full swing. All efforts are being taken to save the child," a cop said.
