19-Year-Old Bengaluru Girl Dies By Suicide, Blames College Mate For Cheating Her Of Rs 15 Lakh Gold

A 19-year-old college student, Priyanka B, allegedly died by suicide at her home in Rajajinagar, North Bengaluru, police officials reported on Monday.

According to the FIR, Priyanka was reportedly deceived by a college mate, Diganth, who convinced her to invest in casinos, leading her to part with gold ornaments worth Rs 15 lakh.

On November 29, Priyanka was found hanging from the balcony of her residence. In her suicide note, she blamed Diganth, accusing him of taking the gold ornaments and failing to return them despite her repeated requests.

The Rajajinagar police have filed a case under Section 108 (abetment of suicide) of the Indian Penal Code and have launched an investigation into the matter.

A case under BNS Section 108 (abetment of suicide) has been registered by the Rajajinagar police and probe is underway.
