Delhi Education Minister Ashish Sood Says Govt Schools Will Soon Have AI Smart Boards and Robotics
Delhi's education minister, Ashish Sood, announced plans to introduce an advanced education system in the city's schools. This initiative will incorporate artificial intelligence, smart boards, and robotics. During a visit to a state-run school in Surat, Gujarat, Sood expressed optimism that these changes would improve the quality of education in Delhi's government schools and increase students' exposure to modern technologies.
Sood observed various classrooms using smart boards for teaching and learning. He engaged with students to understand how they benefit from this technology. The government stated that the minister also visited the school's AI and Robotics Lab. There, he saw students working on practical projects involving drones, 3D printers, and advanced sensor security systems.

Smart Classrooms: A Comparative Insight
Despite being India's capital with ample resources, Delhi's government schools have only a few hundred smart boards. In contrast, Gujarat has established over 1.1 lakh smart classrooms despite facing challenges like annual floods in several districts. Sood highlighted this disparity during his visit.
The purpose of Sood's visit was to observe the implementation of the National Education Policy 2020 and learn from the best educational practices adopted by different states. He praised Gujarat's reforms in state-run schools as commendable and suggested other states should draw inspiration from them.
The minister's observations underline the potential benefits of integrating technology into education. By adopting similar strategies as Gujarat, Delhi aims to enhance its educational infrastructure significantly. The focus is on equipping students with skills relevant to today's technological landscape.
This initiative reflects a broader trend towards modernising education across India. By leveraging technology like AI and robotics, schools can provide students with hands-on experience in cutting-edge fields. Such exposure is crucial for preparing them for future careers in an increasingly digital world
